Hawken Woodsman .50 Caliber Percussion R24008
The Hawken rifle was a muzzle loader rifle built by the Hawken brothers, and used on the prairies and in the Rocky Mountains of the United States during the early frontier days. It has become synonymous with the "plains rifle", the buffalo gun, and the fur trapper's gun. Developed in the 1820s, it was eventually displaced by breechloader rifles which flourished after the Civil War.
The Hawken Woodsman is a serious hunting rifle. The Woodsman has the classic styling and handling of the time-honored Hawken while offering great performance and affordability. This percussion model boasts a hooked breech for easy barrel removal, brass butt plate, double set triggers in an oversized glove-fitting trigger guard with finger rest, and click-adjustable rear hunting sights. The Hawken Woodsman is a .50 caliber and has a 28" octagonal blued barrel. It is 44.5" in length and weighs 7 7/8 lbs. and comes with a select hardwood stock with a brass patch box.
