Phenomenal firearm

Where do I start? This gun's fit and finish is pretty good. Some of the inletting is a bit rough, but this is easily fixed with some smart sanding. The double set trigger system is very smooth, and the octagonal barrel with a 1:48" twist is perfect for sending a .315 ball patched with .15 ticking holds a 1.5" group at 25 yds. I use 20gr of FFG equivalent (RS) Pyrodex. I had the chance to hunt with it and bagged two squirrels with the gun on its first outing. I was impressed, to say the least. Freehanded at 15 yds set the ball right under the cheek of the poor critter. I tell you this: you'll want to take headshots with this rifle, lest you ruin the meat of the entire front half of the squirrel. All in all, this rifle meets and exceeds all of my expectations for a small caliber muzzleloader. Thanks Old South Firearms for selling such a fine product.
