Convert your 1858 Remington Pietta .44 cal. percussion revolver to a Five Shot cartridge shooting .45 cal. LC. The 5 shot fluted cylinder is an excellent choice since you should only load 5 shots in a 6 chamber cylinder, letting the hammer down on an empty chamber. The 5 shot conversion cylinder has 10 cylinder stop notches. Five of these notches are set between the chambers and are designed to be used to lock the cylinder out of battery and allow you to safely lower the hammer fully down between the loaded chambers. These conversion cylinders make an excellent, safe more affordable alternative for those competitive cowboy action shoots, as it is SASS approved for CAS match use. Caution: Do not dry fire your Howell Old West Conversion Units; dry firing will result in damage of the firing pins.

"Howell Old West Conversions, LLC warrants our products for workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the original owner. The Warranty does not extend to the revolver the conversion unit is installed on due to manufacturing anomalies beyond our control. The "Warranty" does not apply to normal wear associated in firing a converted weapon, or if any unauthorized repair or alterations have been performed."
Caution:
1. Ammunition must be loaded with LEAD BULLETS and a LOW-PRESSURE POWDER CHARGE that DOES NOT EXCEED 850 FEET PER SECOND VELOCITY!
2. NOT FOR USE IN BRASS FRAME REVOLVERS!
3. .44 and .45 caliber cylinders must NEVER BE INSTALLED IN A .36 CALIBER REVOLVER!
4. Load only 5 rounds in a six shot cylinder; fully lowering the hammer on the empty chamber.
5. Follow all instructions that come with your Cylinder Assembly and Firearm. Safe shooting is your responsibility.
6. Firearm must have been produced after the year 2000, and must be in perfect working order.
