Conversion Cylinders - If your not sure about which cylinder will best fit your needs give Old South a call and we will do our best to answer your questions.

Howell Old West Conversions cylinders and back plates are made from certified 4150 Arsenal grade steel for insuring strength and durability. All models of their original series conversion cylinders are designed for use with either smokeless “Cowboy” ammunition or Black powder ammunition. Choose from stainless steel, blued steel, fluted, engraved, and smooth cylinders; these cylinders are made in house and have one of the best Quality Control environments you will find. These cylinders are fast and easy to load and each chamber has its own firing pin. These cylinders are reminiscent of the early years after the Civil War when metal cartridge bullets first appeared on the scene.

Kirst Konverters Convert your 1800's Black Powder Revolver to a .45 ACP, .45 LC, .45 Schofield, .22 or other calibur suited to the year and style of your revolver. We have a full line of Kirst Konverter conversion cylinders and ejectors for Pietta and Uberti in stock. Many Kirst Konverter products replicate those required by the US army after the civil war to meet the new demand for cartridge shooting revolvers. This was one way to advance the military into the modern firearm age without having to purchase new revolvers. Kirst Konverters® are precision CNC machined from 4140 steel and heat-treated for strength and durability. Kirst's unique "Gated Ring" is what sets them apart, their ring does not require modifications to your revolver. Kirst also has some well designed ejectors to make unloading a simple task.
