This 1919 book makes you wonder why they don't make them for every war. "Family War Service record" contains a fairly comprehensive, recent, account of the war. One section, 137 pages, covers the lead up and history of WWI. There are sections for service men to put their own personal accounts. These sections are seperated by military branch, including the "air service". The next section covers a comprehensive AT-HOME history from the perspective of the American Red Cross, YMCA, YWCA, Knights of Columbus, The Salvation Army, The Jewish Welfare Board, The War Camp Community Service, The Home/State Guard, The Boy Scouts, and places where people could tell their own stories within those organizations.

The good news from a collectors perspective, this book is in its original state, and has not been filed in. The bad news for the historian is that this book has not been filled in. Imagine the stories a large service-minded family could have.
