This is a fake of a rare French Foreign Legion helmet that would have been originally made from a German military helmet. This helmet appears to be made from a M1942 Spanish Modelo Z helmet used from World War 2 into the 1980s. It has a M1942/79 liner.

The side holes have been filled in to make it look more German, and a French Foreign Volunteer Army logo has been painted on the side. A second logo on the other side has been scraped off.

Great for reenactors or collectors.
