The Entrenching tool has its roots all the way back to the Roman Legions. They have been a staple of US troops since WWI. The modern folding version began in 1938 in Germany, and was copied by the US in 1943. That version was further improved in stages to what it is today.

This is an original Vietnam Era M56 Shovel cover designed for carry on LC belts. The shovel is a copy of a U.S. M1943 E-tool, but was made in Taiwan. Both are used, in good condition

Perfect for reenactors, yard work, collectors and more.
