The Ruger Old Army is widely considered the strongest and best black powder revolvers. The ROA was designed in 1972, and unlike other black powder revolvers at the time, it was not based on any previous design. Aesthetically it resembles a cross between a Whitney (or Spiller and Burr) revolver and the Remington New Army - from which it gets its name, but mechanically it is based on the Ruger Blackhawk.
The design was discontinued in 2007-2008, and it quickly became a sought after and valuable collector's item.
This example is apparently unfired, in the box, with the original paper work. Condition is like-new with one exception; we took this to a gun show, and the barrel got a tiny scratch (pictures) from someone that ignored the "do not touch" sign.
