The Kirst “Equalizer” conversion cylinder will work in all Uberti or Pietta percussion revolvers, regardless of when they were manufactured. NOTE: The original Kirst 1858 Remington “Safety Cylinder” Konverter would not reliably work in Uberti 1858 Remington revolvers produced after 2017.
To remedy that problem Walt Kirst redesigned the 1858 Remington Konverter with 5 evenly spaced chambers and a hammer actuated firing pin retainer, located between each of the chambers. It’s called the “Equalizer” Konverter.
The “Equalizer” Konverter works with all existing Kirst Konverter Rings, including the Pale Rider version and the Gated version that can be paired up with our Improved Remington Ejector, which works on all calibers from .22LR to .45LC.
This is a "Gated" Long Colt conversion cylinder, which will allow you to optionally load your revolver without removing the cylinder. Instructions and a template are included if you want to use the gate for loading. You will need 1 fine small round file and 1 fine small flat file and a Dremmel or simular tool to shape your frame for loading.
If you do not want to use the "Gate" at this time; some minor filing may still be require for an accurate fit. Instructions are included, and no major gunsmithing is required. Call if you have any questions.
Purchase either the .45 LC or the .45 ACP cylinder assembly and purchase an addition cylinder of the opposite caliber. You can use the same conversion ring for both cylinders and double your shooting pleasure, it's like having three revolvers in one. .44 Cal. Black Powder - .45 Cal. Long Colt - .45 Cal. ACP
All Kirst Konverters are precision CNC machined in the USA from 4140 Steel and heat-treated. The cartridge conversions are rated "For Black Powder or equivalent loads only," which includes the current Cowboy Loads on the market (Read the "Caution" Statement Below).

1. Ammunition must be loaded with lead bullets and a low-pressure powder charge that DOES NOT EXCEED 1000 FEET PER SECOND VELOCITY!
2. NOT FOR USE IN BRASS FRAME REVOLVERS!
3. .44 and .45 caliber cylinders must NEVER BE INSTALLED IN A .36 CALIBER REVOLVER!
