This is the curved quillion sword style bayonet designed for the 1909 and updated 1891 pattern Argentine Mausers. The M1909 bayonet was made by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co in the famous blade-making region of Solingen, Germany. This pattern bayonet was made from 1909 to 1912.
Unlike the 1891 pattern bayonet, which had a brass or aluminum grip, the 1909 pattern featured wood scales.
This bayonet and scabbard are matched serial numbers. The bayonet has been sharpened and the blade appears almost like new. The grip scales are also in astonishingly good condition. The scabbard has some wear. One strap on the frog has a tear, but the frog as a whole is in good condition with supple leather.
This bayonet is antique surplus, and may feature minor wear, light rust, dust and minor imperfections, none of which take away from it's beauty. As-Is. No returns or refunds. Call 205-533-8595 with questions.
