From 2003 to 2006 the Air Force fielded this design for certain units on a trial basis. The cam resembles a digital version of the Vietnam-era tiger stripe uniform, with a darker pattern than the later ABU.

From 2011 to 2018 the ABU was the primary combat uniform of the U.S. Air Force. In some ways it was an improvement on the ACU. First, it was made from a lighter, more breathable fabric than the ACU. Secondly, it had a camo pattern that actually blended in to certain environments, unlike the Army's Universal Camo Pattern (UCP) which was known as "Grandma's Couch" camo, as that was the only place it blended in. It was only phased out when the Army dumped the ACU.

These pants are fairly rare, unfortunately, these pants are missing the top two buttons. This could easily be replaced, but makes them unwearable as is.
