ALL ANTIQUE RIFLES SOLD AS-IS. NEVER ATTEMPT TO FIRE AN ANTIQUE WEAPON WITHOUT CONSULTING A GUNSMITH. SEE PICTURES FOR CONDITION AND DETAILS
In 1886 Argentine Small Arms Commission began the process of replacing their old Remington Rolling Block fifles. To this end they contacted Mauser. This rifle was made by Ludwig Loewe Company, possibly the finest manufacturer of Mauser rifles in history. These rifles were so good, they were still in regular service with police and back line troops into the 1960s.
This carbine variant, known as the Engineer Carbine, was used largely by engineering and artillary units.
This rifle is all-matching and the condition it beautiful with a great bore and a silky smooth action. The crest was ground off by the argentine government when the rifle was surplussed. There is a chip in the stock near the bolt handle, and a few tiny little specks of rust that are virtually unnoticeable without close inspection. No cleaning rod.
7.65x53 caliber
